About the Candlewyck Open
What began as a neighborhood golf tournament has grown into something deeply meaningful. After losing his father William Greto to Lewy Body Dementia in 2020, Marc Greto, Board Member of the EBOD Foundation, transformed the Candlewyck Open into a fundraiser dedicated to advancing Alzheimer’s and dementia research.
For Marc, the mission is personal. Watching his father’s battle with dementia—and the toll it took on his family—created a lasting commitment to help other families facing the same journey.
The connection runs even deeper: when Marc’s father was healthy, he regularly organized charity golf tournaments in support of veterans, making the EBOD Foundation’s mission especially meaningful.
The Candlewyck Open has raised approximately $28,000 to support research, caregiver resources, and respite care for families impacted by dementia through the EBOD Foundation.
This year is especially significant—Marc’s father would have celebrated his 88th birthday.
The Candlewyck Open is more than a golf outing.
It’s a legacy of love, remembrance, and impact.
